Mars Needs Moms is a sci-fi film in 3D computer animation by Walt Disney Pictures. It’s based on a picture book of the same name authored by Berkeley Breathed. The movie is directed by Simon Wells and produced by Robert Zemeckis along with his studio Image Movers Digital. Though the movie is based on children’s fiction but adults too can enjoy the captivating 3D computer animation and the suspense filled wild adventure!
Nine year old Milo (Seth Green) just doesn’t know what makes moms so special? All he knows is that they nag you all the time, force you to eat the boring broccoli and carrots, make you run errands from house to the garden, and send you to bed when you aren’t sleepy yet. But Martians know that moms are special for they grow up without mothers like potatoes from the ground and miss the love and care of the mothers.
One night Martians abduct Milo’s mother (Joan Cusack) but he doesn’t sit brooding about the things happening around, instead climbs onto the ladder of the Martians’ spaceship, boards it, and off he goes with it as it starts with a blast! There he comes to know what makes mothers so special.
Martian kids hungry for mother’s love needed moms to drive them to the soccer games, to the ballets, and to the parks, pack their luncheons, for dressing them up, for cooking them goodies and to put band-aids on their nasty little boo-boos!
Milo’s adventurous trip from earth to Mars in quest of his mom involves supersonic action packed journey made more thundering, wonder striking, and appealing in its 3D representation. You get to see him moving forward his unearthly journey toward an unknown planet navigating his way out onto the mysterious and intricate places on the planet, finally heading to the leader of the Martians (Mindy Sterling).
Gribble (Dan Fogler), a techie, underground earthman and Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), a rebel Martian girl prove helping hands to Milo in his quest! If you know the book, you know the end too, so it is finally the son meeting his mom but Mars Needs Moms – the 3D movie ends only after entertaining you with wild adventure in all its magnificence!
