In Moscow, five young people lead the charge against an alien race who have attacked Earth via our power supply.Chris Gorak (art direction in: Fight Club, Minority Report, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) directs this alien invasion movie with a twist. Based on the story written by Leslie Bohem this movie in many ways succeeded and in many ways failed. For the most part the movie is believable and true to how things would actually happen. But then there are moments that set you back and dislike the film.
It begins with two friends, Ben and Sean, are on a business trip to Moscow. When the "business" part of the trip doesnt go so well they hit the local bars and party their asses off. They meet two other american girls, Anne and Natalie, to join them in their drunken adventures through the Russian nightclub scene. But in a quick instance all power to the city shuts off. In confusion the mass of bar-go'ers march out into the streets to investigate. What the find is circular rays of light falling from the sky. When one of these lights gets really close an officer of the law decides to investigate. The officer puts out his nightstick to touch the light. But when he does, he is violently reduced to ash. In a ash covered frenzy, with people disintegrating left and right, everyone runs off in their own direction. Our 5 protagonists make it to an unusually well armored, food storage are, for the bar they were just in. They wait in that storage room for 5 days with only the sound of the invasion to drown out their crying. Once they emerge they must fight back against the invisible invaders and attempt to make it back home.
